Old school jazz torch singing meets contemporary cabaret glamour. One of Australia’s finest cabaret artistes and jazz singers, Mama Alto, makes a stunning return to the Primrose Potter Salon stage following her sold-out show in 2023. A gender transcendent diva, Mama Alto is a queer person of colour, living with disability, who works with the radical potential of storytelling. Performing the electrifying set from her most recent USA solo debut at Joe’s Pub in New York City, Mama’s repertoire holds both familiar melodies and unexpected morsels.
August 21 - Mama Alto: 'Songs for My Father' at The Count's
The Count's at the Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts (Melbourne, Australia)
Monash University, Clayton - Victoria

Mama's love of music and path as a singer was in no small part shaped by her late father's love of music. Two years on from his unexpected passing, in this special jazz set Mama Alto revisits some of the songs that her papa loved most. Her August performance at The Count's will be the first outing of this very special project.
Ongoing - Taylor Mac & Matt Ray's "Bark of Millions"
